Fine Art Prints, Decorative Printmaking, Printmakers, Artists – Several editions of short run experimental relief prints with some conventional print-making undertaken since revisiting printmaking 45 years since leaving art college. This has given me chance to adopt a more abstract approach to painting and drawing but this is two-way process as the prints also incorporate the contrast between random natural patterns and geometric shapes. They also continue the experimentation begun as a 60s student.
Prints often rely on grained timber overprinted by hand-cut shapes, ready-made articles (e.g. CDs) and bought pieces from craft shops. Occasionally conventional printmaking techniques are used such as drypoint or photo-etching either as separate works or combined with relief printing techniques.
Based on working in publicity, overprinting of transparent coloured inks has also been used.
