Marine art, Maritime paintings, boats, ships, nautical drawings – pictures showing interest in waterways and boats which began in childhood along the canals of Birmingham (said to have more than Venice) but has escalated since moving to the Greenwich area of South East London.

However, the appeal is not sleek fibreglass yachts, derring-do fully-rigged galleons nor modern warships but the textures, colours and structures of neglected coasts, harbours and derelict vessels or boats under repair that have character.

Works have been executed in pencil, pen and ink, as well as paint with oil pastels, crayon and pencil but with the added character of cut-out shapes, texture paste and filler often incised to give life and soul.
